Since 1962, Austin PBS has been a part of Central Texas delivering programs that educate, inspire, and entertain. As a community-supported, locally owned PBS station, we’re dedicated to telling stories that reflect and celebrate our region’s unique spirit. Through award-winning local content, we show the world what makes Austin special. And as a nonprofit educational organization, we also help prepare children for success in school and provide lifelong learning opportunities for all ages.

About Real Estate Donations

Austin PBS partnered with CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services) to process donations in the form of real estate assets. Properties in any location, condition, and format are eligible for donation to Austin PBS. Back taxes, mortgage balances, and deferred maintenance do not prohibit your ability to donate. Our program covers all loans, liens, commissions, and closing costs so long as there is equity in the property.

If you have a land, residential, or commercial real estate asset that is unused or costing you money, consider giving back to the station you love by donating it to Austin PBS. As a result, you may also be eligible for a significant tax deduction!

EVALUATE

Verify the valuation, liens, condition, and closing costs.

Donation purchase contract

Step 3

SALE

Liquidate the asset for maximum value.

Process transaction

Step 4

CLOSING

IRS forms sent, appraisal, and proceeds to nonprofit.
